Privacy Policy, Information gathering

When someone visits our website, SunnyvaleARES.org collects the visitor's IP address, the URL(s) of the page(s) and other elements visited, the referrer (if applicable) and information about your web browser as disclosed by you. The information is stored in standard apache format:

%...s:          Status.  For requests that got internally redirected, this is
                the status of the *original* request --- %...>s for the last.
%...b:          Bytes sent, excluding HTTP/S headers. In CLF format
                i.e. a '-' rather than a 0 when no bytes are sent.

We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website. IP addresses and filenames are also used to gather broad demographic information, such as the number of visitors to our website and to determine the pages viewed by them. All log information will be stored until such day we deem it to be no longer useful for adminstering the server, the logs will then be destroyed. We typically do not share this information with anyone outside the SunnyvaleARES.org organization.
